Since I started using the the Oasis GPX™ Carbon Trebles ($5.85) I have found that I am changing my bass strings 5-6 times for each set of trebles. The Oasis GPX™ Carbon Trebles ($5.85) last for 6 months of heavy use. I had been buying Savarez bass sets in bulk but I've found these Centurion Classical Bass String Sets ($5.85) have a nicer tone and I prefer the way they feel.

All classical guitar bass strings are made from the same two components: nylon floss core with a silver plated copper wire winding. Unlike winding steel core strings, nylon core strings are far more malleable, allowing the manufacturer greater flexibility the winding process. As we have found, changes in this process can have dramatic effects on string performance. Using our custom string winding equipment, we have recently reformulated our Centurion Classical Bass String Sets ($5.85).
Our friend, Jim Piorkowski*, provided a professional ear and has offered his comments:
“I think that these newly formulated Centurion Classical Bass String Sets ($5.85) are now the highest quality available, because they exhibit four qualities that I truly appreciate:
1st. Their flexibility allows for easy vibrato and expression
2nd The produce a lyrical and sustained tone
3rd. The “finger squeaks” are reduced
4tth. They endure many hours of playing and still sound lovely
Centurion Classical Bass String Sets ($5.85) are offered in light, normal, medium and high tension. These strings are offered either individually, in bass sets or matched with Oasis Regency, Titanium and GPX treble sets. All strings have tarnish protective packaging.
Regarding Shipping. My shipping rates are based on cost of goods. Anything up to $19.99 costs $3.00 within North America (add $6.00 for other countries). Thus, (3) sets of strings have a shipping charge of $3.00. For larger orders see:
